FNHA Funded Therapy
Our practice is proud to offer counselling services through the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA). Through FNHA's Mental Health Benefits program, eligible First Nations individuals in British Columbia may access up to 22 hours of counselling services annually at no cost. (Where terms such as "Status" are referenced, we are using the terminology required by FNHA and federal programs while recognizing its roots in colonial legislation.)
All providers offering FNHA-funded services through our practice have completed Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility training and are committed to providing culturally informed, trauma-aware care. We recognize the ongoing impacts of colonization, systemic inequities, and intergenerational trauma, and strive to create a therapeutic space grounded in respect, safety, and collaboration.
As settlers and guests on the traditional territories of the Songhees Nation and the lək̓ʷəŋən Peoples, we acknowledge that we cannot fully understand or share in the lived experiences of Indigenous Peoples. We approach this work with humility, curiosity, and a commitment to ongoing learning and reflection. Our goal is to support clients in ways that honour their unique experiences, strengths, and healing journeys, while continually deepening our capacity to provide meaningful and culturally responsive care.
